You should be rewarded at this point with a Mojave login screen from your temp boot drive. On my dual monitor setup, there were several times were the screen(s) went blank for minutes, but eventually it came back. NOTE: Not sure if this was necessary, but wanted to make sure it did not boot from RAID at this step. On this reboot, I held down option key and the external drive showed as Mojave installer, selected it to continue with process. #BOOTABLE MAC USB MOJAVE INSTALL#
After the initial install process the machine will reboot. Go to the App Store and run the Mojave installer while booted from the temp boot drive.

Next part, update your temp boot drive to Mojave.
Select the temp boot drive and boot into it.
Restart Mac and hold down option key to get to boot menu. This might take a while depending on your setup. Select the RAID as source and temp boot as destination. Clone the Raid to the temp boot drive. Formatted temp boot drive (HFS with GUID) and run a check on it to make sure it is good. 
Reboot machine and shutdown any running apps (especially ones like dropbox, google drive, one drive, etc.). Get another drive to clone your raid to (temp boot drive). The trial is sufficient, but to do future OS updates you will need to purchase it most likely. First part is making a cloned, bootable copy of your current RAID: I didn't even need to drop down to the command line or do anything really out of the ordinary.Ģ012 Mac mini I7 with 2 256GB 850 EVO SSD in Raid 0 I was able to get this to work in my Mac mini 2012 without too much hassle.
